The Kerry Way and Laune Mountaineering Club
Between September 2018 and September 2019 the club completed all sections of the Kerry Way, doing one section each month. The Kerry Way, at over 200km, is one of Ireland's longest and most popular waymarked trails. The trail loops anti-clockwise around the Iveragh Peninsula, passing through some of the most isolated and dramatic countryside in Ireland. It avoids the higher mountain peaks and opts for lower slopes. Club members hate to walk on paved roads so those pieces were avoided when possible. Transport was arranged where needed, with the cost shared among the walkers.
The club is grateful to the landowners along the Kerry Way. It would not have been possible without their permission to walk the trail through their lands. Thank you all!
